Soaring The Eagle Program

Assalamualaikum,

Waktu aku tulis entri ni, aku sedang kebosanan menunggu page loading kerana internet yang slow macam kura kura.. Biasalah waktu tengah malam ni system shutdown lah bagai.. Waktu macam ni jugaklah aku rajin nak settlekan university application. Cakap pasal university, semalam housemate dan coursemate aku, Serene dah dapat tawaran University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. Top University kot! Alhamdulillah i'm happy for her. She deserved it. Serene apply early action, so decision pun early. Yang lain semua tunggu next year. Doakan :)

Sebenarnya aku baru balik dari Soaring The Eagle (STE) Program for Petronas Sponsored Students at Glory Beach Resort PD.  Syok sangat! Mula-mula rasa malas nak join tapi wajib. Lebih banyak indoor dari outdoor activities. Bila indoor activity dan ada group kecil, mesti ada presentation. Biasalah nak latih kita speaking depan orang ramai. STE adalah program kedua yang aku join melibatkan semua petronas scholars. First program adalah Petronas Readiness for Employment Program (PREP) induction bulan October yang lalu. Dua-dua best tapi STE lagi best sebab waktu ni kitorang semua tengah sem break dan boleh enjoy to the maximum.

Kalau dekat US nanti takde siapa dah nak visit aku tiap-tiap minggu. Aku selalu stress dengan Calculus waktu sem 1. Aku selalu mengadu dekat mak, ayah, kakak, abang, nenek dan beberapa kawan rapat lain pasal ni. Diorang pun selalu bagi semangat. Alhamdulillah berkat usaha, doa dan tawakkal, I'm happy with my results :) InsyaAllah tinggal satu sem. Misi 4.0 ! One step closer to US.

New Zealand

Assalamualaikum and hi!

It has been a month since I went back from a six-days vacation in New Zealand. Finally, I have time to share my splendid experience in the 'Land of the Long White Cloud' because now is my semester break! So, my family and I went to the North Island of New Zealand. North Island and South Island are different but both have a lot to offer. Both are full of picturesque sceneries. That's what my tour guide said. Though the North Island is not as much of a "feast for the eyes", it offers unique opportunities to experience a different side of New Zealand, including Maori culture, geothermal activities and cosmopolitan cities. And it's true that people in New Zealand are greatly outnumbered by sheep, the ratio is about six sheep per person. It was Spring at that time. We stayed for 6 days from 29th October until 3rd November and the weather was very cold!

Day 1

We transit at Gold Coast Airport for one hour before landing at Auckland Airport. We followed Xplorevic tour and I would recommend this service to anyone who interested to go to New Zealand. To find halal food was easy for us since we were accompanied by a Muslim tour guide, Mr. Hamzah. Upon reaching Auckland, Mr. Hamzah brought us to Mamak Malaysian Street Food Restaurant for dinner after performing Maghrib prayer at Masjid At-Taqwa. After that, we went straight to Hamilton that took about 1.5 hours and stayed one night in Ibis Hotel.

Day 2

We traveled from Hamilton to Waitomo to visit Waitomo Glowworm Caves, Marokopa Falls, and Mangapohue Natural Bridge. We had our BBQ lunch at Roselands Restaurant after visiting Waitomo Caves. Next, we traveled from Waitomo to Rotorua and checked in RotoVegas Motel in Rotorua. We stayed there for three nights (syok sangat stay situ. Ada jakuzi lagi dalam rumah). Mr Hamzah took us to Countdown supermarket nearby our hotel to find food for dinner. My mom brought instant food Brahim along from Malaysia and bought some sorts of food at Countdown supermarket.

Day 3

I went out with my sister, Aliya and my aunt, Cik Nande for a morning walk after Subuh prayer (Subuh at 4.40 am). It was freaking cold but tak kira nak jalan jugak! After that, Mr Hamzah brought us to Waiotapu geothermal area and we got to see The Lady Knox Geyser where the geyser is induced to erupt daily at 10.15 am by dropping a surfactant into the opening of the vent. We had our lunch at Nando's Rotorua. After lunch, we went to Skyline Rotorua and had a breathtaking view of Rotorua New Zealand. The Gondola was just a typical ride up to the top of the Skyline but the luge ride makes this place exciting. At night, we visited the Tamaki Maori Village and got to learn something about the Maori culture and to also enjoy some entertainment and a great meal. Our bus driver fetched us from our motel and got us started with some fun and commentary on what to expect. We learned new words such Kia Ora (greetings) and wahine (woman). The first part of the evening was some education in various skills and the Maori culture. We were then entertained by the tribe performance and then finally the hangi (a method of cooking by Maori culture). A great selection of chickens, meats, and vegetables cooked in the traditional manner where the food is cooked underground. It was an unforgettable experience in the Tamaki Maori Village!

Day 4

We traveled from Rotorua to Taupo. The road to Taupo was eye-catching as we passed by the lush fields of Jersey cows. The sheep also seemed numerous on the hillside of the road. We had our Maori Rock Carvings Cruise at Lake Taupo with the classy yacht for 2.5 hours (feeling elitis habis naik tu). We headed up to Mount Ruapehu dengan harapan nak rasa snow. Mount Ruapehu is the only place where you could possibly see the snow at the North Island of New Zealand during Spring. We supposed to visit the Huka Falls at Taupo on that day but unfortunately, we didn't have enough time for that. :'( On our way back to Rotorua, again we went to Countdown supermarket to buy food for dinner.

Day 5

We checked out from RotoVegasMotel and went to the Rotorua's Government Gardens Museum. Finally, I got to see Tulips! Also, we had so much fun at the Hobbiton Movie set in Matamata where The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit were filmed. The journey in the home of the Hobbiton movie set took about two hours around the past Hobbit Holes, the Mill and into the world-famous Green Dragon Inn, where we were served with brewed beverages to conclude our Middle-earth adventure. After that, we traveled back to Auckland and spent one last night in Ibis hotel. On our journey back to Auckland, we dropped by at Park n Save supermarket to buy Whittakers chocolates! It's undoubtedly true that Park n Save is way cheaper than Countdown..We also had our dinner at Uncle Man's Malaysian Restaurant in Auckland.

Day 6

We went to Muriwai black sand beach in the morning. It was so nice and perfect for a morning walk. Later, Mr. Hamzah took us back to Auckland city for shopping! Before going back to the airport, we had our lunch at Auckland Fish Market.

Don't Give Up

Assalamualaikum

Hey blog.
What a hectic life! I'm very busy doing the never-ending calculus homework, English assignments, preparing for SAT actual test which is next week , TOEFL test , supplementary essays for university placement and so on. Everything is within one semester.

But, I know I can do this.

"Whenever you feel that you're very down,  just close your eyes and say: This is my journey, It's His plan. I just need to carry on and trust Him"

For all my friends who struggle in studies and whoever read this entry, Don't give up because it is far better to be exhausted from success than to be rested from failure. Even sometimes when you feel upset , just remember that you're Muslim Ummah. That means everyone is making du'a for you. So just stay strong and remember that After hardship is ease (94:6)

New life in Taylor's University lakeside campus

Assalamualaikum and hi!

Almost 2 weeks in Taylor's lakeside and I survived!

Today is the most productive day so far, I guess. I jogged around the lake with uni, komu and amelia in the morning. 1malaysia gitu. But it was only one round hehe, better than never. (Lake tu besar tau) And not to mention how far they left me behind hahaha it's okay, stamina can be improved!

So, if anyone asks me about how's my life in Taylors, I would rather say , everything is fine, SO FAR as I haven't start my fall semester in ADP yet. Now is like only for SAT and TOEFL workshop. We have started doing research for several universities in US that we are planning to go. You know the feelings when someone said, 'go for harvard , aiza!'

(Aku hanya mampu berhuhuhu)

I'm not an extraordinary competitive person. But I will try my best in whatever things I do. By the way, I feel like I wanted to show my apartment at U Residence because husna and I had just cleared up all the unnecessary things in the kitchen. Five residents in my apartment. Me, Husna and Serene kira gang economics Petronas lah. The other two girls are seniors.

Patut tunjuk gambar before and compare dengan after kahkah, serene sangat terkejut bila dia balik ala ala surprise deco bersama eric pulak. LOL

Appreciation Post

No words can describe my feelings. I had been teaching the standard five students from 11th january to 11th march 2016. It was such a memorable experience! They were not only students in my class, but they became a part of life.

I didn't expect anything from my students but then, masyaAllah. (Terharu)

Sayang semuanya!

Thank you for reading.

What's Next?

Assalamualaikum,

Dear blog,

I have so many things to share right now but , hmm I have no clue where to begin.

Okay let me write in points form.

The things that I wanna share :

1. I've received the details about American Degree Transfer Programme in Taylor's Lakeside and i'll be staying at U-residence!

U-residence is located in the taylor's lakeside. There are starbucks, subway, pizza hut (if im not mistaken) and a few high class restaurants. As a student, it is considered expensive lah. I need to be very prudent in managing money.

Hello Taylor's lakeside! Yay ada lake di situ, dah tahu dah port mana best kalau nak release stress . Haha! Tetapi akhirnya, port terbaik adalah dalam bilik dan tidur.

2. Im going to register on July,13. I'm certain that it's going to be tougher ,wayy tougher than SPM . But, Allah has put me there. He is going to help me throughout this programme. He knows best ! Yeah you can do it, Aiza !

3. I need to sit for SAT test during the first sem and also TOEFL.  Hoping and praying that I am manage to get into the top Uni in US. Amin..

4. I'm sooo ecstatic because Anis Nat has gotten the offer for Asasi Law in Uitm !! Absolutely that's what she really wanted to do. Go Anis !

what about my upu result ? Alhamdulillah.. Glad to know , pasum :-)

I wish that i could make the best decison for my own future .. yes my future with you.. Haha awkward! (for you mak and ayah)

5. I just went back from UTP for an event. Cantik sangat library UTP ! And I love making new friends !

Haa itu Datuk Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin. He looks very humble. Siap selfie dengan saya. Eh tak! Wefie dengan kami.
